I grew up in Burlington, Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Music Education.
I first taught at Woodbury Central School in Moville, Iowa for one year, grades K-6 General Music and 9-12 Vocal. Next, I taught at Rockwell-Swaledale School in Rockwell, Iowa for 5 years, grades 6-8 General Music and 9-12 Vocal. Later, I taught at North Tama School in Traer, Iowa for 9 years, grades 1-6 General Music. Next, for 18 years, I taught at Dysart-Geneseo Elementary School, grades K-5 General Music and at Union Middle School, grade 6 Exploratory Music and Humanities: all in Dysart, Iowa. I also served as the DG Elementary building technology coordinator. Whew! All of that adds up to 33 years!! Now, I have returned to North Tama Elementary to teach again, grades K-4. Wow! I'm glad to be back! I live in Dysart with my husband, Bill. We have a daughter, Annie, who is a teacher too, and a son, Brett who graduated from the U of I and lives in Scottsdale, Arizona. We also have Cooper, the golden retriever, and Toby, a nice little beagle-bichon dog from an animal shelter. I like to teach, sing; play the piano, guitar, and viola; fish, and paint barn quilts.
